Nazneen lives with her parents and sisters in a bucolic Bangladesh village with her sister Hasina. Growing up together, the girls are almost inseparable. Their native always tells them that it is predetermined to last the hardships that entity brings their way, but she herself cannot direct them and commits suicide. Nazneen's architect decides to match up her off to Chanu (Satish Kaushik), an scholarly and older Muslim living in London's East End. She is only 17 years old when she leaves the village.
Sixteen years later, Nazneen (Tannishtha Chatterjee) lives in Buddy Lane, a rundown container complex that is deeply to many immigrants. Having gone her first-born son in a crib destruction, she now has two daughters: Shahana (Naeema Begum), a incorrigible adolescent, and Bibi (Lana Rahman), a ten year old. Once her one's nearest leaves for the day, Nazneen eagerly reads a despatch from her treasured sister about her adventures in ardour. She dreams of returning to Bangladesh, a class which in her memories is charming in its attraction and asylum. Nazneen has never truly accepted London as her adept in. Chanu returns with bad intelligence that after being passed over for a space, he has beat it his job.
