I was shocked by the “Dog Guard” fly that Goose posted earlier today.
Not because of the cock's-crow celebrated turns by Sandler & Piven, the repeated breaking of the 4th madden, or even the transparent metric tonnage of dog puns (no way that would have gotten old over the practice of an inviolate season).
The jolt was because they basically lifted the doohickey and thread inexpensively from an insanely catchy, if monumentally concealed 80s video.

I have a ill-defined celebration of seeing this video as part of MTV’s Basement Tapes, which let viewers franchise on which unsigned bands would get a space launch at stardom. Kinda like
The show never made anyone a distinguished, and the league together never did anything of note after this. Misery, they didn’t even win this crappy event.
But I repel you to informed entertain this ditty and not have it in a wink depose worthy memories of lifeless loved ones’ faces. It’s that catchy.

Alan Stalker: I was bartending at the Magic Pan on Sixth Avenue, and was also a telephone answering service guy. I got the MTV job, but didn’t flee my job at the Magic Pan for two months.
Martha Quinn: I was recently graduated from NYU, and was working as a desk clerk at the school’s Weinstein dormitory, where Rick Rubin [later] started Def Jam Records. I, too, did not give up my day job when I got MTV.
Nina Blackwood: I was playing my harp full-be that as it may at the Hyatt Regency in L.A. I was also working on three projects, all pertaining to video music. It didn’t have a name yet, but I was a functioning VJ.
Smear Goodman: I gave up my day job. I was working on-air at WPLJ here in New York, and was a year into a three-year contract. I had to break my condense with ABC to do this, and all they cared about was that I wasn’t gonna be working in radio. Ha! Suckers.
NB: It was a gamble for everybody concerned, because who’s to say anybody’s gonna watch it? I signed a three-year contract, but my managers and agents were like, if you don’t like it, then in 3-6 months you can split.
