Ken Loach has a splotchy run down narrate with me. Some of their films I’ve liked and some of their movies I haven’t liked, so I was hesitating about Bread and Roses and its draw.
The fog follows this curriculum vitae: Maya is a discerning-witted minor sweetheart who comes over the Mexican edging without papers and makes her way to the LA qualified in of her older sister Rosa. Rosa gets Maya a job as a janitor: a non-federation janitorial services has the understanding, the iniquitous-mouthed foreman can fire workers on a whim, and the serving-workers’ weld has assigned organizer Sam Shapiro to regurgitate its “incarceration for janitors” competition to the structure. Sam finds Maya a amenable listener, she’s also attracted to him. Rosa resists, she has an ailing pacify to ponder. The workers try for communal upkeep; managing intimidates workers to sow dissension among and beat. Rosa and Maya as well as workers and running may be set to crash..
Bread and Roses unusually surprised me. I had been looking first to it ever since I saw the trailer a few days ago and I have to say I was not downcast in the least.
