Region funds Nova Scotia Music Week applications
In statute to bid, the community has to put forth a $12,000 bid fee for each year, which is only payable in the year of the event. On Monday, July 18 town council approved a commitment of $12,000 annually in 2012, 2013, and 2014 to the Chamber of Commerce Nova Scotia Music Week Commission.
"You have the choice to pick one of the three years, or all of the three years. If you pick all three years, you could get all three years, or any one of the three," says Kevin Page, co chair of the Music Nova Scotia Bid Cabinet. "In our bid proposal we're looking to bid on all three years at the same time."
Page says one advantage the cabinet has this year, is the economic impact assessment Yarmouth completed on last year's Music Nova Scotia Week.
The assessment results, which were included with the instruction process package, came from surveys conducted during Nova Scotia Music Week.
