UK satellite network Sky1 HD has unveiled new comedy and entertainment series for its autumn register as it pushes into original British content.
Comedy Gates (6x30') is an ensemble comedy from Surface Good Fiction written by scribes from My Family, Not Going Out and Green Wing. The script journalist is Absolutely Fabulous's Jennifer Saunders.
The show stars Sue Johnston (The Royle Family), Tom Ellis (Miranda) and Joanna Page (Gavin & Stacey) as parents who materialize relationships while waiting to collect their children from school.
Starlings (working title, 8x60') comes from Steve Coogan's Coddle Cow Productions and follows the lives of a working class Derbyshire family.
Matt King (Complaint Show) and Steve Edge (Star Stories) are attached to the script, with Baby Cow co-founders Coogan and Henry Universal executive-producing.
New entertainment series Last Act Standing (WT) is a studio-based gameshow from Magnum Media
