Friday the 13th from Betsy Palmer to Michael Bay: The Evolution of ...

"Friday the 13th" was not the first slasher videotape; among those credited with that alarm subgenre's origins are Bob Clark's "Resentful Christmas" and the film that many over to be the maximum slasher, John Carpenter's "Halloween". However, the "Friday" films may be the most mimicked in terms of fad and delighted.

The First Friday

1980's "Friday the 13th" centered on the myth of Mrs. Voorhees (memorably played by Betsy Palmer), her boyish son Jason, and a dispose of counsellors at Coterie Crystal Lake. Among the acting luminaries of the movie is a minor Kevin Bacon in one of his first onscreen appearances, as a schnook of Mrs. Voorhees, and the specialized effects of demon talkie violence artist Tom Savini. The blood-curdling, leap give someone a shock driven screen was hated by critics upon it's unloosing, but the story-line captured the creativity of aversion fans (and perhaps more importantly, was a monetary good), and a legacy was born.

Jason Voorhees appears only as a na youngster, albeit with a acclaimed run nigh the end of the steam. Ignoring this, the filmmakers did not jib to capitalize on their first attainment with a follow-up featuring Jason as a grown man, this nonetheless directed by first every so often pilot Steve Miner.

  • Betsy Palmer question?

I am wondering why Betsy Palmer did not reprise her r in later Friday the 13th films like Freddy Vs. Jason, Friday the 13th (2009) version, or the other movies that they wanted her to act in.

According to her IMDb folio, they didn't offer enough money.
She also only took the role in the first one because she needed a new car. She called the script "a restore of s**t".

Does any JW go to a kingdom hall in palmer Alaska? ?

And if so do you have knowledge of the kunkies. And attach pictures of them if possible. I am Betsy's niece.

I don't but I am flourishing to Fairbanks to visit my son. He is not in the truth but my motel is right across the street from a Kingdom Hall. I have never been to Alaska. I understand it is pretty though.

How can I get a copy of an old $10000 Pyramid, episode #383 air date 3/17/75? Or any old game show tape?

My maw, Kerry Malloy, appeared as a contestant on the $10,000 Pyramid with guests Tony Randall and Betsy Palmer. From TV.com, I discovered that they filmed 5 episodes together (#'s 383-387) from March 17-21, 1975.
I be familiar with there is

Influentially unlikely the episode still exists...most $10,000 Pyramid episodes were destroyed by CBS and ABC (some 40+ episodes credulous in Sony Pictures Television's vaults); off-the-air copies might be in the hands of someone in the game show tape-trade
