  • Smackdown: Oh Henry, O Canada

Not that the WWE should be expected to pass any kind of deal about it being Canada Day, but that doesn't stop Christian, the resident Canuck, from celebrating by continuing his shepherd towards a second World Championship. Of course, Canadian-trained Mark Henry has something to say about that.

Phoenix, AZ, is host to a rare party: the first in-ring action of the night is a match and not a promo. In a quick backstage conversation, Christian is looking for an legitimate contract signing for his title shot at Money in the Bank, but General Manager Teddy Covet hasn't made up his mind on that match yet. He says that if Mark Henry can beat Randy Orton right now, then the compact for the title becomes a triple threat.

Match #1 Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton

Henry naturally outmuscles Orton early on, while Booker T comments that he's never seen Orton punished in this way, nor has Cole ever seen Henry look more rickety. Presumably this is all said with a straight face. The fight spills to the floor, but Henry is distracted by Big Show's entrance music. When he turns back to Orton, the champ is waiting with an RKO and he slinks back into the aureole before the count of ten.

Should I do my semester report on Vladimir Nabokov or O Henry?

It has to be a 10-call for paper about their life and work... The purpose is still vague... I am torn between Nabokov and O. Henry. If I were to do it on Nabokov, I would specifically focus on Lolita. If I were to do it on O Henry, then I would focus

You should obviously do Nabokov. His life is pretty interesting; most of his most famous works are written in English, which is not his native argot. You should also investigate some of his short fiction; "Signs and Symbols" is a good place

What is the theme of One thousand dollars by the author O.henry ?

I thirst for to know the theme of the story One thousand dollars by O.henry and i need this author who wrote it not any others !

I believe the theme is that even though we may have wasted our lives away, at some point we can make it up and be of some significance by giving to others. I suppose it can be summed up as Salvation.

    About this book
1916. Illustrated. A biography of Sydney Superintendent (O. Henry) who was the most popular short story writer of his time. His stories typically revolved around two of his favorite themes, the picture of the impostor and fate as the one unavoidable reality of life. Another device he used was the surprise ending, most often coming about through coincidence. He was the founder of the humorous weekly The Rolling Stone. When the weekly failed, he joined the Houston Post as a news-presenter and columnist. He was convicted of embezzling money, although there's much debate over his actual guilt, and while in prison he started to disparage short stories. His first work, Whistling Dick's Christmas Stocking appeared in McClure's Periodical. After emerging from prison Porter changed his name to O. Henry. He then moved to New York and wrote a story a week for the New York Smashing, also publishing in other magazines. Contents: The Life and the Story; Vogue; Ancestry; Birthplace and Early Years; Ranch and Megalopolis Life in Texas;...
