As a overseer who values lifelike characters and emotionally vibrant stories above all else, Gavin O'Connor is a childlike filmmaker who is keeping the values of a past Hollywood aware. The son of a cop, O'Connor grew up in New York on a fare of exemplary studio movies from the 30s and 40s then immersed himself in the adroit films produced by the New Hollywood auteurs of the 1970s. As is the the reality with many things in life, time is of the essence. Especially when it comes to ebay auctions. We are fast moving into the fall movie season, which means we are on the verge of awards talk. One cover in particular earning a lot of early buzz is WARRIOR, writer/ director Gavin O’Connor’s film about two divided MMA fighting brothers. Lionsgate is auctioning off a signed movie poster from the film. Win out over news of it all is the entire proceeds of the auction go to a great charity, The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Establishment.
The movie poster – similar to the one above – is signed by the film’s two hot male leads, both of whom’s careers are delightful off right now. Tom Hardy (“Bane” in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES) and Joel Edgerton (“Tom” in THE Devoted GATSBY) both signed the poster when they were at Comic Con last month.
