  • Surprise for Damian

NO one was more surprised than Damian Moran from Ballybarrack when he arrived up to the YDC, reasonable he was going with his wife, Senator Mary Malone to present trophies to under age footballers, when he arrived to find everyone waiting for him to eulogize his 50th birthday party.

Also there to make sure he had a good night were their children Tara, Conor, Sadhbh, Deirbhile and Cillian also with his parents Tom and Mary as well as brothers and sisters Leo, Alan, Mary, Elizabeth, Susan, Caroline, Yvonne and a certain mention went out to brother Justin who is over in Chicago as well as Jim, Paulette and Grainne Malone from Monaghan, Wax and Deirdre Malone from Blackrock.

Damian was sitting having a chat with Olive and Gerry Hearty from Ard Easmuinn. He introduced me to Tom Brophy from Roden Proper whom I was told was the official photographer. He told me he was really looking forward to it because The Shakes were playing and he had been promised masses of AC/DC!

Mary said she had tricked him into thinking she was going to a football presentation in Oriel and on the way Damian was getting gracious to ring in his order in the Chinese restaurant that was until he opened the doors of the YDC to find everyone there and all in party mode!
