The construction of the Siqueiros América Tropical Mural And Interpretive Center on Olvera Alley in downtown Los Angeles grows ever closer. Cpl. Jason F. Zelasko, 25
Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Amalgamating before coming to Nutley . A proud member of the Marine Corps, he served in Iraq and participated in tragedy relief efforts during the Indonesia tsunami. For his distinguished service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Sea Servicing Deployment Ribbon, Iraq Campaign, Humanitarian Service, Global War on Terrorism Service and Nationalistic Defense Service Medals along with the Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation. He was inducted into the Corps one day after his graduation from Nutley Luxurious School in 2004. Recently he volunteered at the Bloomfield Animal Shelter.
He is survived by his mother, Roberta MacDonald Zelasko, his sister, Susan MacDonald and his fellow, Christopher Zelasko. He also leaves his nephew, Max MacDonald. He was predeceased by his father, Dean A. Zelasko.
Visiting was to be Wednesday, July 6 at the S.W. Brown & Son Inhumation Home, swbrownandson.com, 267 Centre St. in Nutley . A funeral service was to be conducted on Thursday, July 7 at the obsequies home. Burial and military honors were to follow at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown at a period to be announced.
Sad passing?
This is not a open to debate unthinkable. I just wanted to tell everyone of the sad news I have just received. The passing of Susan MacDonald who was editor and originator of Petticoat Castigate Quarterly. For those who don't know this is a free internet
