Famed Super Bowl–winning NFL head coach Dick Vermeil will serve his Vermeil wines on the Napa Valley Wine Coach on Friday as part of this year’s Vintners Lunch series.
Vermeil will share his expertise and unique insights to Vermeil Wines, as well as into his Wonderful Bowl seasons, during the four-course meal, prepared by Executive Chef Kelly Macdonald.
Enjoy the exceptional gauge of the valley from the elevated Vista Dome Car during the afternoon. Vermeil and Macdonald will be on board throughout the event to explain the pairings, solution any questions, or just chat about wine and food as the train slowly traverses the Napa Valley.
Vermeil was born and raised in Calistoga. His exceptional-grandfather on his mother’s side, Garibaldi Iaccheri, had owned a large vineyard and his paternal great-grandfather, Jean Louis Vermeil, made the family wine. Vermeil took up winemaking as a recreation in 1999, using grapes grown on the land that his great-grandfather once owned, which has passed to the Frediani blood.
