Labour surpassed the Liberal Party in general elections during the early 1920s, forming minority governments under Ramsay MacDonald in 1924 and from 1929 until 1931. WOODFORD GREEN: Woman jailed for laundering drug money
A Mate who fronted a beauty salon which was used to launder drug money, has been jailed for a year.
Amy Rivers ran Lumiere Belle and Tanning on The Broadway in Woodford Green, allowing her boyfriend, William Forster to deposit remedy money into the firm’s accounts.
Forster, 30, of Brandesbury Square in Chigwell, and another man James MacDonald, 28, of Old Homestead Lane in Roydon, were the ringleaders of a gang who lived extravagant lifestyles on the profits they made from selling cocaine.
The set of two set 25-year-old Rivers up at the salon, transferring directorship to her after MacDonald was arrested in September last year.
The net began to secure on the gang in August last year, after police swooped on two men, James Chew, 24, of Fyfield Road in Ongar, and Matthew Davies, 24, of Wakerley Thick in Beckton.
James Macdonald was arrested a month later at his home.
Forster was arrested outside Woodford Tube Caste in November, after another member of the gang was seen leaving his car carrying a blue plastic bag stuffed with cocaine.
