North Palm Beach swimmers qualify for Junior Olympics
The North Palm Run aground Swim Team competed at the 2011 Florida Gold Coast 14 & Under Junior Olympics. The game was held July 15-17 in Plantation.
Participants were: Olivia Belew, Ashley Boggs, Jordan Brough, Morgan Brough, Preslie Brown, Sydney Cikovic, Marvy Dodge, Nicole Gomez, Zachary Ladd, William Samuelson, Dana Leininger, Madison Lichtig, Katherine McMillan, Acadia Rubin, Remy Bennett, Elana Barnhart and Madeline Ayers.
North Palm Seashore earned a handful of top-10 finishes at the event. Cikovic, 12, placed fourth in the girls 11-12 200 backstroke experience and 9th in the 100 backstroke. Gomez, 9, finished 9th in the girls 10-and-under free. Boggs, 14, finished 7th in the girls 13-14 400 let go. Leininger, 12, placed 9th in the girls 11-12 200 fly, and Brown, 10, placed 10th in the girls 10-and-under 100 bust.
In the boys 13-14 age group, Samuelson finished 7th in the 1,500-meter freestyle and 10th in the 200 fly.
The girls 400 released relay team placed 6th, and the girls 200 free medley team finished 7th blanket.
