...Until our conductor, Dr. Beverly Everett, returned with a few tricks of her own! This is a challenging movie in that the conductor needs to co-VIP and deal a lot of duologue. Dr. Everett performed brilliantly! She was captivating and a rectify accessory for Mr. Kamin. The orchestra was adept to get in on the act a few times, too, which I'm told was a valid treat for them. The show's heroine performers graciously took questions from the circle until almost 9:45! We got to understand Mr. Kamin talk about his experiences teaching Johnny Depp how to do necromancy and mime routines for movies such as Benny & Joon (which I loved), including a fill the bill he second-hand during the Pirates of the Caribbean. The Death of a Bookseller: I have to admit, I am somewhat ambivalent to the death of Borders in the Of one mind States. Borders, along with Barnes & Noble, was the pioneer of the big box book store, and had a hand in killing the unsolicited bookstore. Big box book stores also changed publishing, they had too much clout, quite frankly.  All I can in reality say is Karma is a bitch.  Anyway, there are real reasons why Borders died and Barnes & Noble continues to hum along; Borders made some ho-hum business decisions in the 90s. Yuki Nogochi looks at some of these reasons.

Speaking of chains: Waterstones has reintoduced prime buying for its chain of stores in the UK, apparently as a means of comabtting cumbersome buying procedures for each trust in, though the chain promises local staff will still have the power to buy what they want when they want. I hope so, one of the problems with these rules chains is the homogeneity and the ignorance of local tradition and culture.

He then presents provocative new interpretations of the comedian's sound films, showing how Chaplin remained thorough to his silent comedy roots even as he kept reinventing his art for...
