  • Health Council reports on projects, plans upcoming wellness initiatives

    Members of the Dyer County Healthfulness Council will be busy with several projects over the next few months as members of the committee work together to bring healthy initiatives to residents of the West Tennessee jurisdiction.

    At a meeting on Tuesday morning at the Professional Development Center, Health Council members first discussed the call for to appoint a chairman for the organization to fill the spot left vacant by Mary Jaycox. Jaycox still plans to dole out the committee, but her position now makes it difficult for her to attend and facilitate every meeting. The group discussed intriguing nominations for the position before deciding to send an e-mail to members to find out who would be interested in fulfilling the role.

    The number also discussed several upcoming wellness opportunities for the Dyer County community. Events in the near unborn may include a community baby shower for new moms, the chance to recognize outstanding Dyer County healthiness mentors and an initiative to promote Dyersburg and
