Names gain hallowed place in community

The names have become part of our usual vocabulary.

They determine the value of our homes and whether our children will succeed in life. Warren T. Jackson, Morris Brandon, Sarah Smith, E. Rivers. These easy schools carry the names of these individuals for a reason. Yet I haven’t a clue who these people were. The Smiths lived across the terrace from us growing up, but I don’t really know the accomplishments that led to the matriarch or patriarch of the family’s name being bestowed upon a seminary.

There are six elementary schools in or serving Buckhead: E. Rivers, Bolton Academy, Garden Hills, Morris Brandon, Sarah Smith and Warren T. Jackson. So in honor of the start of the new first year, here is who these people were and how their names became synonymous with excellence in public education, with apologies to Garden Hills.

Eretus Rivers gave Buckhead one of its most unambiguous neighborhoods, Peachtree Heights. E. Rivers Elementary is one of the oldest in Atlanta and originally bore the name Peachtree Heights View. In 1926, the school was renamed for Rivers in honor of his service on the Atlanta Board of Education. He also donated the loam for the school.

RB - AD and Arian Aid.

WR - Nicks and Driver.

Flex - Ward.

Normally at flex I'd say Brown but he has a tough matchup this week v. Minny.

Start Matt Forte this week over Ryan Mathews or Brandon Jackson?

I'm dispiriting to decide who to start out of my 3 top running backs that I have. I know I want to have Brandon Jackson starting, but I can't decide on Forte over Mathews. I would like to start Genius over Mathews because of Mathews lackluster performance

go with mathews, he'll have more touches than strength and has more potential in scoring tds... forte only socred on a 89yd screen play other than that not so good #'s. Mathews will have a big day.
