    Hundreds of people flocked to a assemblage garage sale in Bexley on Saturday, as red-zone residents got rid of possessions before leaving the earthquake-ravaged square.

    Organiser Angela Jackson said cars were nose-to-tail in parts of the eastern Christchurch suburb as people came from across the metropolis to buy goods that some residents had accumulated during more than 40 years in the area.

    About 75 householders held garage sales, including Phil Lockton, who said he sold most of his items.

    "It was bright. We sold all the furniture. We had 25 to 30 people there at any one time. There must have been about 500 people come by."

    However, some people walked off without paying, he said.

    Lockton said he raised perfectly under $1000 and would put the money aside until he knew what was happening with his red-zone home.

    Karen Beaumont, who also lives in the red zone, did not have a garage on offer, as many of her possessions were broken.

    However, she bought some toys for her grandchildren and a spray gun.

    Angela Bassett! La Toya against to be gorgeous, i dont think she should've gotten those surgeries. If we're talking about La Toya in the 80's, then definetly her.
