The day was hot and the racers were hotter. Harness racing driver Craig Banks drove "It's Getting Difficult" to victory in the second race at the Cannon Valley Fair Grandstand show on July 4.
Posting a heyday of 2:04.4, it was 59-year-old Banks' one-thousandth career driving victory. "That's appropriate, since he had his first win here (CV All right) in 1982," explained Craig's brother Ron Banks of Cannon Falls.
With 51 horses in eight races and temperatures soaring into the 90s, Ron further explained that not only does hot out of sorts not bother the horses, but because their muscles are more relaxed, they tend to run faster.
