Board to Try Three-Committee Structure
For six months, the Directorship of Education will be trying a new three-committee structure where committees focus on Education, Operations and Human Resources.
The misfortune structure will last until around January, when the board would decide whether to continue with the three-committee structure or to revert to its traditional make-up.
“If we do wish to have this new process. . . then we would need to change policy,” District Superintendent Jorden Schiff said. “We do have a bylaw that describes the board structure, it’s very detailed. In order for this to become something that would become permanent, the board would need to change policy.”
The structure shot comes from Schiff’s Strategic Plan proposal and incorporates the observations made during his first 100 days in the territory. Schiff presented the plan during the board’s Monday meeting, outlining his plan for education, pole development, technology, facilities, and other areas.
