Philippines happy with Asean's support on Spratly dispute
China, Taiwan, and Vietnam state the whole of the South China Sea. The Philippines, Malaysia, and Brunei claim some parts of the Spratly Archipelago in the South China Sea.Meanwhile, it is not known if the Philippine management will still raise its complaints against China before the United Nations, with ASEAN’s approval for the establishment of guidelines to alter into conflict in the South China Sea. Earlier, China said it would not elevate its claims on the South China Sea before the Unified Nations’ court that settles disputes of claimants with overlapping territorial claims.
Earlier, Philippine Peculiar Minister Albert del Rosario said the Philippine government will elevate its complaint against China’s suspected nine aerial and naval intrusions into Philippine territory in the South China Sea (also known as West Philippine Sea).
Other ASEAN unrelated ministers have expressed approval to this plan, said Del Rosario.
He referred to Indonesian foreign cleric Marty Natalegawa who said that international courts should help settle ASEAN’s outcome on what should be done with the dispute of claimants in the South China Sea, long viewed as a possible flash point in the dominion.
