Elenco: Kelly Reilly, Michael Fassbender, James Gandhi, Jack O’Connell, Thomas Turgoose, Bronson Webb, Shaun Dooley, Finn Atkins e Thomas Gill.

Foreigners who loved and served India (Diamond, Rs 150) by K.C. Brahmachary is exactly that a book about all the foreigners (Europeans, mostly) who came to India, demolish in love with it and decided to dedicate their lives, or at least a lot of their time, towards the uplift of its people. Brahmacharys work is not like a summary textbook, even though the lives and contributions of its subjects are chronicled in an academic manner, with a chapter and a number of sub-headings dedicated to everyone, from Charles Freer Andrews and Sonia Gandhi to Edward James Corbett and Take care of Teresa. And while one gets to read about illustrious names like Annie Besant and Sir William Jones, Brahmachary also exhaustively researches the lives of Josephine Macleod, to whom Swami Vivekananda had once expressed his indebtedness, and William Winstanly Pearson, whose words, For India , was proscribed by the British in India for its strong anti-imperialist teachings.

About this book In as well to war, terrorism, and unchecked military violence, modernity is also subject to less visible but no less venomous conflicts. Wide-ranging in nature, these "culture wars" exacerbate the tensions between tradition and innovation, virtue and freedom. Internationally acclaimed expert Fred Dallmayr charts a course beyond these persistent but curable dichotomies in Integral Pluralism: Beyond Mores Wars. Consulting diverse fields such as philosophy, literature, political science, and religious studies, Dallmayr equates latest history with a process of steady pluralization. This process, which Dallmayr calls "integral pluralism," requires new connections and creates noble responsibilities.Dallmayr critically compares integral pluralism against the theories of Carl Schmitt, the Undeviating Right, international "realism," and so-called political Islam. Drawing on the works of James, Heidegger, Gadamer, and Merleau-Ponty, Elemental Pluralism offers sophisticated and carefully researched solutions... |
