Actor Frank Gallacher (pictured, truth) passed away yesterday in a Melbourne facility. He was 65.
Gallacher, who was born in Scotland, appeared in countless Australian dramas including MDA, Stingers, Fergus McPhail, Royal Coroner, Janus, The Man From Snowy River, GP, Skyways, Trusty, Scuttle, Matlock Patrol, Segmentation 4, Bluey, Boney and the mini-series Boys From the Bush, Nancy Wake, All the Rivers Run, The Last Brigand, Brides of Christ and Against the Gibberish .
His photograph credits number roles in Amy, Mr Sound, Buttress, Sovereign of the Mountain and Peter Pan.

WHEN you have played top-open amateur golf for as long as Allan Thomson you have seen pretty much everything. But, as he hinted, that is not always a good article.
The 53-year-old came out on top against Simon Barras in their Scottish Amateur Championship first-round tie at Western Gailes, engaging on the 17th hole after being four up with five to play. However, he had to see off a rally from his opponent, and an odd sense of reverse deja vu.
“It came back to me that 30 years ago I was four down with five to lightly against Frank Coutts here and won at the 19th,” explained Thomson.
Coutts, who he joined in the international that season, thought he had irrecoverable on the 18th green, only for Thomson to point out that they had to play extra holes. That, too, briefly looked like occurrence when Thomson yesterday lost the 14th and 15th holes: “If Simon had holed a six-foot putt at the 16th it would have been back to one crack, but he missed. We halved the 17th as well to end it there.”
