Boyd Gaines to Join James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave in ...

Tony Furnish victor Boyd Gaimes will play facing Tony winners James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave in the first Broadway putting out of Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer-Best fetching dramatic art, Driving Bobby-soxer Daisy , to inaugurate performances at the Fair-haired Scene on October 7. The direction, which will bring out officially on October 25, will be directed by David Esbjornson.

The show, which had its Off-Broadway come out in 1987, focuses on the relationship between Daisy Werthan, a 72-year-old Jewish widow living in mid-century Atlanta, and Hoke, her African-American chauffeur. The covering conception later won the Academy Give for Best bib Conceive of, which also earned Uhry an Academy Assign for Most excellently Adapted Screenplay.

Jones won Tony Awards for his calling in The Keen Hoary Longing and Fences and his many other Broadway credits file On Blessed Pond and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof . His many other awards subsume the Kennedy Center Honor and the SAG Awarding for Lifetime Attainment.

    It is designed by John Lee Beatty, lighting by Peter Kaczorowski, costumes by Jane Greenwood, clear-headed by Christopher Cronin. produced in the West End by Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich.

    The play ran at Broadway's John White-headed Theatre from 7 Oct 2010 to 9 April 2011. Driving Miss Daisy was adapted into a screenplay, and released as a large screen in 1989.
