Sitcom Mike & Molly , which, of without a doubt, premieres tonight . The show hasn’t premiered yet. How would you describe the expectation cardinal up to it? Ado? Foreboding? they get to support in sweetheart. 'Mike & Molly' star brings big comedy act to Pageant
Billy Gardell was celebrating an Emmy nomination last week, but not his own. Melissa McCarthy, his co-celeb on CBS' "Mike & Molly," is nominated as best actress in a comedy, and Gardell says he's not a bit jealous.
"That's more viewers for us," he says. "I stand in want her to keep going." When it's time to renegotiate salaries, "I'm going to say I want to make $5 less than she makes."
On his summer relax from "Mike & Molly," which enters its second season on CBS this fall, Gardell went back to his roots, taking his refer to-up act on the road. He'll perform Saturday night in an all-ages show at the Pageant in St. Louis, which he calls one of his favorite cities.
"I've been doing thicket-up since 1987, and I've been at the Funny Bone a lot," he says. "I know St. Louis well, and I'm looking forward to coming back and being at the Spectacle."
Gardell still likes getting out onto the road, but doing a sitcom "is the best," he says. "I drive home at 6 o'clock at nightfall, and it gives me time at home, with my wife, Patty, and son."
