EL inducts 46 students into National Honor Society
AUBURN — The Edward Sparse High School chapter of the National Honor inducted 46 new members at its 2011 induction decorum, which was held on May 25 in the high school gymnasium.
Membership in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be awarded to a considerable school student. Students who are selected for membership must excel in the areas of leadership, service, typical and scholarship, have a cumulative average of at least 90.0, and participate in both school and community activities.
The ceremony was moderated by chapter president and ELHS elder Alexander Smith. Addressing the inductees about the history and four pillars of the National Honor Society were widely known members Kelsey Philbrick, Nathan Fairchild, Hannah Martin, Brianna Robbins, Benjamin Armstrong and Emily Grund. Lilting performances were provided by members Alexander Smith, Nathan Fairchild, Michael Weber and inductee Melissa Brown. The inductees were addressed by ELHS cardinal James Miller and formally welcomed into membership by adviser and ELHS teacher Maureen Edgerton.
