Staten Island golf: Seniors compete
The Staten Islet Seniors Golf League began its match play tournament yesterday at Silver Lake GC at 100 percent check to determine the club champion in divisions and the overall champion.
Jim McCarthy and Brian Kennedy tied for first with 68s in the A take a run-out powder, Bob LeMole (69) was third and Frank McConville (72) took fourth.
In the B flight, John Falcone was first with a 73 followed by Tony Beanti (70), Harold Reilly (71) and George Bossert (72).
Steal DeSalvo and Dom Vitale both shot 69s to tie for the C flight while John Camerlingo and Pete Biancardi tied for third with 71s.
The D decamp was also tied at the top as Nick Colucci and Carlo Carbone had 69s. Lefty O’Donnell and Dan Driscoll tied foir third with 72s.
McCarthy had the low plain of the day with a 78. In closest to the pin competition, Falcone (A) and DeSalvo (B) were tops on the sixth hole while Jim Sullivan (A) and Biancardi (B) won the 11th hollow.
