Dead Cert (2010)
Set in the sphere of London gangsters and concealed boxing matches Cold Cert circles general area the respectability of Freddy Frankham (Craig Fairbrass). WHEN PR guru and Sponsor of the Rhys Daniels Trust introduced the charity to La Cala Resort on Spain’s Costa del Sol for a fundraising golf result in 2000 no-one envisaged that 11 years later the event would become the success it has.
This year’s event was sponsored by Pimlico Plumbers and M D Barnard & Co. Ltd and raised an unlikely £92,950 for the Rhys Daniels Trust ‘Home from Home’ Appeal. The 2011 at any rate began on June 9 when golfers enjoyed a practice round and then relaxed at the Welcome Dinner, which was hosted by Mike Osman and where they were entertained by Tee Immature, Stan Boardman and the fabulous Sam Kane.
Some familiar celebrity faces were also welcomed back for the celebrity golf pull, namely Roger Kitter, Chris Simmons, Craig Fairbrass, Steve Sedgley, Dave Beasant, DJ Spoony and Jess Conrad. They were joined this year by Gareth Gates, Stacey Solomon, Nick Knowles and boxer Tyson Ferocity plus Rodney Marsh and Alex Walkinshaw.
