Onthelake4854 : The photos are very pragmatic in seeing why this 'cutting edge' boat capsized when no others did. There is a reason only 7 of these were ever built.Ultralightweight, flat bottomed (the photos you abhor show that) with bizarre 'wings' off the hull that made it very unstable in high winds or rough seas. Even the owner who died posted on a sailing blog that it was 'caring' to sail and if 2 people moved onto the 3 ft wide wing, the wing went under water and if you moved around on that small craft, you needed a person the same size to move in the opposite direction of you. "Tender' is a euphemism for what the old man who taught me to sail 50 years ago called "a iniquitous tricky nasty (expletive) of a boat, tippy and unstable as h*e*l*l that can get you killed if the weathers turns on you."
The sailing forums where this mould of boat is discussed talk about them being so lightweight and unstable that they will capsize in the harbor at anchor in a 50 mph a conclusion.
