  • Three Algonquin Singers Awarded Scholarships From Mastersingers

    Three graduating seniors from Algonquin Regional Huge School were awarded scholarships from Assabet Valley Mastersingers for their participation in the AVM Apprentice Singers program.

    Soprano Kathryn Connolly will be attending Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, where she will chase English and Literature Studies. She sang in the AVM Apprentice Singers program for two years and also studied present privately throughout both middle and high school years.

    Nicole Ferguson, alto, will attend Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Ait, where she will study Business Administration. She sang with the group for one year and says that she is “excited for college and thankful for the scholarship.”

    Alto Marisa Vasquez, who was an Apprentice Singer for two years, will study Church Music at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Vasquez is currently in Ecuador with her church agglomeration, performing missionary work.

    All three students honored are residents of Northborough and benefitted from the AVM Scholarship Funds raised later on from concertgoers this season through raffles of baskets and/or donations.
