  • New movies to expect for fall 2011

Now that the kiddies are safely back in train and the movie theater is once again safe for adults, Hollywood is rolling out dozens of movies through Thanksgiving that are without superheroes, teen sex or cheesy dread themes.

In their stead are a passel of adult dramas, political thrillers and sophisticated comedies proper to stimulate the senses while not rotting the mind.

Pictures like “Margin Call,” starring Kevin Spacey, which drums up Be ruined Street intrigue, and “The Ides of March,” George Clooney’s partisan drama. In addition, you’ll see comedies like Roman Polanski’s “Blood bath,” which takes dark humor to a new level, courtesy of a to-die-for cast that includes Oscar winners Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and Jodie Take care of.

If historical tales are your thing, look for bio-pics about Marilyn Monroe and J. Edgar Hoover. And if you prefer your movies in a vernacular other than English, there’s Pedro Almodovar’s new thriller, “The Skin I Live In,” starring Antonio Banderas.
