Colm Walsh with a a dose of his of 38pts won the stableford competition in Balla last weekend, he was followed home in second place by PJ Brett who scored 36pts with Derek Dempsey third one allude to further back. In the ladies competition Breege Jennings and Elaine O’Hora finished on 36pts each, with Jennings’ back nine three abuse securing the win. Marie Flanagan took third place.

Hynes Shoes Castlebar and Galway were the sponsors of the event in Ballinrobe last time out. Aled Roberts with a score of 39pts was the winner. Vincent O’Connell came stingingly in second place two points behind with Sean Mulryan taking third and Michael C Burke the gross booty winner. In the ladies section Ann Galvin’s score of 37pts was enough for her to take the win. Eileen Comer finished in lieutenant place two points behind with Rose Dooley coming third.
Ballinrobe Golf Club are hosting a AM AM contention on July 30 to raise funds for John Mullin from Kilmaine who is going to Ghana as part of an ESB tandem join up to build a school.
