FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas football team will open the practice field doors to fans when workouts set up on Aug. 4.
But anyone interested in watching the Razorbacks begin preparation for the 2011 season will be watching from a new location.
Arkansas unveiled its preseason conduct schedule Friday and, in the process, revealed most of its workouts will be held on the university’s intramural fields. The program provided no definition for the change of venue, but one likely reason for the move is the preliminary stages of construction taking place on Arkansas’ football operations center.
The ability is being built where Arkansas’ two current practice fields currently stand just south of Razorback Arena.
Either way, the Razorbacks will open camp next Thursday with practice times set for newcomers (3 to 4:30 p.m.) and veterans (6:30 to 8 p.m.). Arkansas will lead separate practices for veterans and newcomers during the first four days of preseason camp.
