Leroy Golden
Born in Albany, Ga., on November 15, 1936, he was a son of the up-to-date Ed and Daisy (Braceford) Golden.
He moved to Philadelphia in 1953 and then relocated to Wilkes-Barre in 1968 while he was employed by the Lehigh Base. He retired from Marona Construction Co. in 1993.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Beverly McCloe, who passed away December 2, 2009; brothers and sisters, S.B. Fertile, William James Golden, Reatha Golden, David Golden, Anna Roberts, Ceola Scott, Maxine Chestnut, R.J. Joyful and Ed Golden Jr.
He attended New Covenant Christian Fellowship Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Left to cultivate his memory are his sons, Darryl Carr and his wife, Sondra, Philadelphia; Jerome McCloe and his trouble, Lee Ann, Wilkes-Barre, and Howard Walker, Dupont; daughters, April Walker, Wilkes-Barre, and Robin Spence and her betrothed�, Keith McDougal, Wilkes-Barre; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; an aunt who is 102 years old, Bobbie Avert, Paterson, N.J.; siblings, Lalar Franklin, Carnell Golden and wife, Juanita, Vera Barney, Daisy Lee Barney and Larry Barney, all of Miami, Fla., Mamie Gold, Bensalem, and Willie Barney and his wife, Ernestine, Orlando, Fla.; as well as a host of nieces; nephews; sisters and brothers-in-law; cousins and friends.
