Ok so Mos Def is the phattest rapper under the sun, but I don't very much get what he means by the 'boogie man' when he uses this in his raps. Anyone know what that means?

I contemplate he means he's ugly (scary looking). The Boogie Man is a fictional character used to scare children. In "The Boogie Man Song," he refers to himself as the most beautiful boogie man. He wants to be your favorite nightmare.
