Joey Dedio: La nueva fuerza del cine latino
Nueva York — Visitar el set donde se rueda la película de ‘Tío Papi’ en el Alto Manhattan, es palpar de lleno la cultura latina. El rodaje, que tomó varias semanas en una calle de Washington Heights, se realizó también en un apartamento típico de los edificios de la ciudad.
Los decorados son coloridos y los actores son todos hispanos.
El protagonista del filme, Joey Dedio, que funge como productor y guionista a a la vez, reúne a su equipo de filmación, compuesto de jóvenes actores latinos. Aquí interpreta a un tío que debe adoptar a seis niños, entre las edades de seis y 12 años, tras la muerte de sus padres en un accidente de automóvil.
‘Tío Papi’ presenta todos los colores de este carismático actor puertorriqueño con raíces italianas, que fue criado en Nueva York y cuya larga trayectoria en el cine en Hollywood, le permitió conseguir el financiamiento necesario para realizar otras dos producciones a la vez, "Tuneful Chairs" y "Bobo".
