FORMER Ties actress Alison Doody has revealed her joy after landing a role which will see her follow in the footsteps of ex-Friends star Courteney Cox by playing a 'cougar' in a TV sitcom.
The earth-shaking blonde told the Diary how she's delighted at the prospect of playing a glamorous older woman in the new E4 series Beaver Falls.
Alison (44) will star vis- hunky young actor Sam Robertson and says she's hoping to help put an end to the stigma attached to women dating younger men.

"I've well-deserved come back from Africa and I have a series coming out at the end of the month for E4," she told the Diary.
"Basically I frolic an older lady, Pam. She's a cougar-type character. It was great fun filming it. I can't wait to see what the reaction will be like when it comes out.
"Sam Robertson is my minor leading man and he was fantastic to work with.
"It's important to take on roles that challenge you. I was delighted when I got the call," she added.
