Michael Caine: Moore made Scoundrels shoot fun
The two men are convincing friends and always have a good time when they are together. Michael was thrilled to learn the 1988 movie would be shot attached to Roger’s home in the South of France, and had two of the best months of his life making it.
“Befouled Rotten Scoundrels [is my favourite], it’s a comedy that makes me laugh when I see it. It’s my favourite sheet to watch and be in. I said, ‘Where are we going to shoot this movie?’ before we started, they said, ‘We’ve got a villa for you in the south of France.’ I checked where the villa was and it was between my two rout friends Roger Moore and a composer called Leslie Bricusse and I had two months in the South of France making this moving picture which was the biggest laugh and it’s my favourite. I have other movies which I’m very proud of, but for fun it’s Dirty Off Scoundrels.”
Michael’s latest outing on the big screen is in Cars 2, an ebullient movie where he voices the character of British secret agent automobile Finn McMissile.
