  • Bob Conrad, Legendary Political Columnist, Dies At 91

Conrad was the Times' celestial and he battled former Courant columnist Jack Zaiman for years over who would be first to tell the state which candidates would brains the state parties' election tickets - as Conrad did in 1973 with Ella Grasso, who was elected governor the following year. "I'd do anything to drained Zaiman," Conrad recalled in 1985, in a Courant profile written by his friend, Charles F. J. Morse, on the occasion of Conrad's semi-retirement from always political writing at the New Britain Herald, where he worked after the Times closed.

Conrad was a great talker and exceptionally humorous in private - always a gentleman, gracious even on the first meeting with reporters decades younger than himself who showed up at the same bureaucratic event as he. He didn't say anything more than he needed to at public press conferences, because he usually knew what was going to be said and might have already reported it. He got the data either from the political heavyweights staging the press conference or from other sources who those heavyweights wished wouldn't have talked to him.

Is there a web site that has recent pictures of actor Robert Conrad?

I would like to advised of what he looks like now days. Thanks!

Remember the Robert Conrad TV commerical where he has a battery on his shoulder, what can I do thats similar?

to that when I muster HD Guys
Robert Conrad stick a battery on his shoulder and said:

"Go ahead and knock it off, I dare you"

I don't grasp... "Knock it off" is also a term for "copy it" (which is what I think Conrad's defy was).
HD guys think the God created HD in the Garden and every other bike has been a copy. I'd leave it alone.

Why does someone like Conrad Back receive more coverage in the media than Robert Pickton?

merit ole conrad he is nothing more than a thief...Robert "Willie" raped murdered and dismembered women.

It actually does not make much sense, but remember that he owned a big chunk of the newspapers in Canada, and around the world at one term.

Perhaps he stepped on so many toes, and hurt a lot of people in the industry, and they are reporting
