Queen City Reality Show Debuts Sunday

If you ready for the new “Queen City” reality show about four young Cincinnati women on WXIX-TV Sunday (11 p.m., Sluice 19), you”ll think you’re watching a reality show on Bravo,  MTV, A&E, Style or some big TV network.  Visually, it’s very moving — even moreso considering the show is produced by Cincinnati State Technical and Community College pikestaff and students. 

But “Queen City” is very different from “Jersey Shore,” “The Hills” or the “Physical Housewives” shows.  Viewers won’t see hot tubs, cat fights or any drunken stage show. So it’s not “Girls Gone Wild,” and not some low-budget college student’s sheet project. 

So what is it?

“Queen City” follows four women –  well-connected volunteer Tracey Lynn Conrad; University Federation executive chef Lauren Brown; and marketing strategists Adhrucia Apana and Katie Cassidy — intricate with  various Cincinnati nonprofits and arts groups, and having fun downtown. The goal of the show is “to lunge at people aware of the nonprofits and charities, and the grat things going on downtown and Over-the-Rhine,” says Conrad, who lives dowtown with her hide and 10-year-old daughter.  You can read more about the show in my Sunday A&E story.
