I memorialize her. She got a ride from an old man to the camp for most of the way. Then, Jason's mom picked her up. When they passed the road to the camp, Brenda jumped out & tried to vanish. But she was killed when her throat was slit.

    About this book
John Kenneth Muir is back! His Panic Films of the 1970s was named an Outstanding Reference Book by the American Library Association, and moreover a Booklist Editors' Choice. This time, Muir surveys 300 films from the 1980s. From widdershins psychos (Just Before Dawn) and yuppie-baiting giant rats (Of Unknown Origin), to dislike franchises like Friday the 13th and Hellraiser, as well as nearly forgotten obscurities such as The Children and The Boogens, Muir is our instructive guide through 10 macabre years of silver screen terrors.Muir introduces the field of the decade's horrors, and offers a history drawing parallels between current events and the nightmares unfolding on cinema screens. Each of the 300 films is discussed with particularized credits, a brief synopsis, a critical commentary, and where applicable, notes on the film's legacy beyond the 80s. Also included is the architect's ranking of the 15 best horror films of the 80s.

    About this book
The "slasher" silver screen is the bloodiest incarnation of the modern horror film, tainted by criticisms of misogyny, yet remaining-on and off-a box-commission draw for 30 years. Combining in-depth analysis with over 200 film reviews, "Legacy of Blood" is the most broad examination of the slasher movie and its conventions to date, from "Halloween" and the notorious "I Spit on Your Grave," to "Howl"-the redefining genre hit of the '90s-and beyond.
