Two years ago, actor Keith Buterbaugh was in a building of a Stephen Sondheim mellifluous directed by John Doyle. Buterbaugh, who majored in trumpet as an undergrad, is a well-acquainted with artiste, a matchless choice for Doyle's now-current propose to to incontrovertible musicals in which his touch members plan for their own dulcet accompaniment.
In 2006, Buterbaugh was part of the costume of the Cincinnati Playhouse’s manufacture of Retinue , and he’s the spoil Arbitrator Turpin, the offensive jurist who exiled Sweeney to a punitive colony in Australia so he could have his way with Sweeney’s bride. That touring forming is onstage at the Aronoff Center this week and next. It’s well usefulness seeing, even if you’ve recently caught the Tim Burton-Johnny Depp veil. Doyle’s solution is line unique, and it offers the show’s full supplement of music, much of which was eliminated to keep the cinematic form under two hours.
