This is one of a tandem of wargames books I bought recently. Before I know either of them I had no natural consciousness of what they would carry, but as new wargames books – as opposed to wargames rules – are rather rare, I meditating that I should buy them and, once I had present them, note a wanting critique. So here is the first of what I conviction will be two log reviews … As the appellation suggests, this chapter is an introduction to wargaming. It covers topics such as enlarge, umpiring (he calls umpires ‘judges’), recreation terms (which is a very salutary gloss that not only explains the primary terms Euphemistic pre-owned in wargaming but which also discusses what would all things considered be termed ‘wargaming formalities’), and campaigns.
