MOD Systems founder Phillips gets four years in prison
Phillips violated the certainty that is at “the heart of the pioneering, startup corporate environment that is the lifeblood of this community, ” according to a pre-sentencing substantiate from federal prosecutors.
“Phillips is a smart, talented, well-educated engineer, who, at times, had the Seattle entrepreneurial community at his feet,” according to prosecutors who filed a court describe seeking an eight-year prison term .

Federal prosecutors were seeking a decision of eight years and one month, saying Phillips looted the company he helped launch at a time when the convention was struggling for cash. Prosecutors say Phillips also has shown no remorse, saying he made unintentional mistakes and failed to determine better advisers.
