Hastings: Taylor preparing for Del Mar string
VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Sunday marks the halfway objective of the 2011 meet, and there isn’t much doubt that Troy Taylor is going to win his fifth straight training inscription. Going into the weekend, Taylor had 26 wins, 12 more than Terry Clyde and Elizabeth Stolzenberg who are tied for supporter.
Taylor will be the trainer of record at Hastings for the rest of the meet, but he will be overseeing his stable from Del Mar where he has been given 12 stalls.
“We applied for 10, but they gave us 12 because they figured we were prevalent to claim a few,” Taylor said.
His longtime assistant and good friend Mel Beveridge will be in allegation of the Taylor operation at Hastings.
“Mel probably knows more about what’s going on with the horses than I do,” Taylor said. “I won’t be losing any have a zizz worrying about the horses here.”
Taylor, who will turn 80 on Sept. 11, wasn’t methodically sure which horses he would be taking to Del Mar. Most of the horses going with Taylor are owned by Glen Todd and Patrick Kinsella.

If you could create a rock supergroup, who would be in it?
I saw this taste exercise in Spin magazine back in fall of '04 (props if you can find it in an archive). The basic premise is to frame a supergroup of your favorite musicians from the past and present, and describe what kind of sound you'd like to hear

Guitar: Jimi Hendrix... so its not the most original answer, but really, it can't be a supergroup without hendrix.
